Project Overview

This project is a packaging exploration aims to provide optimal space and structure for holding female menstrual supplies in emergency use. Items included inside are menstrual pads/tampons, painkiller pills, and soft napkins.

Problem Space

Every Women’s Need

Women's menstruation may cause abdominal pain, dizziness, and in severe cases, even a brief coma. Every day, there are people forced to face the dilemma of the sudden onset of their period. Fortunately, many public restrooms have begun to offer bulk tampons for sale. However, other necessary period supplies like painkiller pills and soft tissue are still hard to find in short time.

What Should be Included?

An all-in-one menstruation emergency kit is needed to be designed and promoted for women who are in demanding situation.

Need area to hold 3-4 pieces for a day’s use

Need to be placed in a clean and separate area

in space that is easy
to access

Storyboard

How to access?

This product is designed to be easily purchased and accessed in public places. The packaging should fulfill the functionality of being easily hold, hang, and open. The initial setting of the product is being placed in the vending machines in order to avoid unnecessary uncomfortable buying experience.


Sketches & Iterations

How it been designed?

Multiple tests and iterations on external shapes, interior holding structure, openings, connections, and locks were conducted. The side opening is designed for quick access without open the entire package. The front lock is designed for easy opening and hanging.
